Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to attend the 2025 Shoulder Innovations Symposium in Nashville. It brought together surgeons, engineers, and thought leaders who share a commitment to advancing shoulder arthroplasty.
The meeting highlighted just how far the field has come. From the original InSet™ glenoid concept to today’s comprehensive shoulder portfolio, the evolution of design, technique, and digital planning has been remarkable. For example, ProVoyance™ preoperative planning software has grown to be a best-in-class option for customizing each shoulder replacement surgery to an individual patients’ anatomy. As a whole, shoulder surgeons who are part of the Shoulder Innovations’ ecosystem have even more precise tools to tailor care, which of course furthers my ultimate goal of providing the best possible outcomes for my patients.
Another thing that stood out, and is so beneficial to shoulder surgeons was the collaboration. Across sessions and case reviews, there was a shared focus on continual learning: refining techniques, challenging assumptions, and elevating standards of care together. Sessions like this highlight how collaboration and shared expertise move the field forward, ultimately helping us deliver more reliable, life-changing results for our patients. I’m grateful to be part of that ongoing effort.
