Since beginning her private practice in 2010, Veronica Diaz, MD has performed thousands of procedures involving the upper extremity. She brings extensive training and experience in treating degenerative, traumatic, and sports-related conditions affecting the shoulder and upper extremity. Her work places particular focus on shoulder arthroscopy for addressing rotator cuff disease, as well as shoulder replacement surgery using both anatomic and reverse designs.
She has built a strong record of successful outcomes. In addition, she provides thorough nonoperative care and surgical solutions for fractures and soft tissue injuries of the upper extremity. When appropriate, she prioritizes the least invasive treatment methods available.
Originally from Miami, Florida, Dr. Diaz earned a degree in Molecular Biology from Princeton University. During her time there, she was a member of The Tiger Inn and competed on the Women’s Varsity Swimming and Water Polo Teams. She received her medical degree from the University of Florida and completed her Orthopedic Surgery residency at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital.
She went on to complete a fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery in Pittsburgh. Dr. Diaz is a member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and she is an Active Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
